Job Summary
Deliver individualized instruction to nine students in grades 3–5 within a self-contained autism classroom, focusing on academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional growth. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while adapting curriculum to meet diverse needs. Maintain accurate progress monitoring, documentation, and student records. Partner with families, general education staff, and multidisciplinary team members to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment. Create a structured, engaging classroom environment that encourages independence and positive behavior. This full-time, school-based assignment covers maternity leave from August 13 through November 9.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate Special Education endorsement, or eligibility to obtain licensures
