Special Education Teaching Assistant

Reports to the Classroom Teacher and assists in delivering instruction and implementing IEP goals. Ensures student safety in all environments, facilitates independence, social awareness, language and appropriate behavior, and implements behavior support plans. Supports accommodations/modifications to access curriculum, assists in data collection, and participates in training. Performs duties such as supervising students during lunch or on playground, and may provide personal care support (e.g., toileting, self-care) as assigned. Requires mobility to assist students with disabilities, including lifting or moving students and related equipment; may involve de-escalation and physical intervention as needed. Employment contingent on passing fingerprint and CORI screening.
