Job Summary
Special Education Teaching Assistant to support IEP implementation for students with disabilities across general and special education environments. Responsibilities include assisting with individual or small-group student supports under guidance from teaching staff, providing instructional, social-emotional and behavioral supports, collecting data to inform IEP goals, covering for staff when needed, reinforcing learning, and collaborating with classroom teachers to support engagement and safety. Requires adherence to district de-escalation and safety trainings, confidentiality, and ability to adapt to routines; Bachelor’s degree preferred and criminal background checks (CORI/SORI) completed. Location: Wellesley, MA. Salary aligned with local association contract; full-time role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.), Sexual Offender Record Check (S.O.R.I.) and fingerprints
- Passion for working with children
- Basic knowledge of child growth and development
- Knowledge of basic behavioral strategies
- Knowledge of basic learning strategies
- Demonstrate aptitude for work to be performed
