Job Summary
Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each student in your care while preparing detailed lesson plans for administrator approval. Communicate with staff and families regarding student progress, participate in scheduled IEP meetings, and distribute quarterly progress reports. Use individualized reinforcement techniques to guide students toward their goals and invite family participation in educational advancement. Confer with on-site therapists regarding disciplinary and behavioral issues to maintain a safe, productive classroom environment. This role supports Pediatric Developmental Services' mission to provide highly qualified teachers to public school districts and communities, offering tailored mentorship and competitive compensation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Special Education Certificate (according to AZ Department of Education requirements)
- Arizona Teaching Licensure
- specific certification where applicable - examples: Early Childhood Education Certificate, CC for Cross Category Specialists
- experience with IEP writing, meetings etc
- Experience working with K-12 children
