Job Summary
Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students in your care, preparing detailed lesson plans for administrator approval. Communicate with staff and families regarding student progress and invite family participation in educational updates. Participate in scheduled IEP meetings, distribute quarterly progress reports, and confer with on-site therapists on behavioral issues. Use individualized reinforcement techniques to maintain student engagement while fostering a safe, productive classroom environment. This role requires a Bachelor's degree, Arizona Teaching Licensure, and Special Education Certificate. Pediatric Developmental Services partners with public districts and charter schools to provide qualified educators and therapists.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Special Education Certificate (according to AZ Department of Education requirements)
- Arizona Teaching Licensure
- specific certification where applicable - examples: Early Childhood Education Certificate, CC for Cross Category Specialists
- experience with IEP writing, meetings etc
- Experience working with K-12 children
