Special Education Teacher (Victory Academy at Ridge)

Create an educational climate promoting success and independence for students with disabilities in grades 7-12. Develop weekly lesson plans aligned with New York State Learning Standards and prepare individualized instructional materials based on Individual Education Plans. Lead classroom staff including assistants and therapists while conducting regular team meetings and community gatherings. Communicate effectively with parents through notebooks, conferences, and district meetings, and complete quarterly progress reports and annual review amendments. Mentor new teachers as requested and maintain strict confidentiality within HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.
