Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsible for modifying, differentiating, and teaching an inclusive curriculum; collaborating with families and Special Education teams to develop 504 plans and IEPs; providing pull-out, push-in, small group, and one-on-one instruction; collecting growth data and writing goals for IEP/IEP meetings; participating in weekly school-wide meetings and grade-level collaboration to set academic goals and implement instructional strategies; fostering a positive classroom culture, partnership with families, ongoing professional development, mentorship, and coaching to support urban students' social-emotional and academic development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility or certification pathway (teacher) in New Jersey
- Ability to meet NJ state certification requirements within a reasonable period after starting employment
- A demonstrated commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners in the best interest of students
- Experience or interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years preferred)
- Academic expertise in Special Education or related fields
