Job Summary
Special Education Teacher with Uncommon Schools' urban K-12 program: modify, differentiate, and teach an inclusive curriculum; develop 504 plans and IEPs with families and Special Education teams; provide academic, emotional, and physical support while maintaining high expectations; deliver pull-out, push-in, small group, and one-on-one instruction; analyze student work and assessments to respond to trends and prepare for IEP meetings; build positive relationships with students and families, participate in weekly meetings, and engage in practice-based PD, mentorship, and coaching; required bachelor's degree and NJ certification eligibility, with 1-2 years of experience preferred; compensation between $56,000 and $80,000; benefits package available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (a final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 for graduates on or after 9/1/16, or 2.75 if you graduated prior to 9/1/16)
- All instructional staff are required to become certified in the state of New Jersey within a reasonable period after beginning employment
