Job Summary

Special Education teachers develop, differentiate, and monitor accommodations for students with special needs using an inclusive curriculum. All instructional staff in NJ must become certified within a reasonable period after employment. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • NJ state certification eligibility requirements (final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 for those graduates on or after 9/1/16, or 2.75 prior to 9/1/16)
  • Teacher certification not prerequisite for NJ consideration but certification within NJ within a reasonable period after starting employment
  • Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years preferred)
  • Academic expertise in Special Education, the Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, or related fields
