Job Summary
Special Education teachers develop and monitor accommodations and collaborate with families and Special Education teams to implement 504 plans and IEPs, differentiate instruction within an inclusive curriculum, and support student academic, social-emotional, and physical development. Responsibilities include analyzing student work and assessments to respond to trends, writing goals for IEP meetings, delivering pull-out/push-in/small group/one-on-one instruction, partnering with grade-level teams to set academic goals, and participating in weekly school-wide meetings, mentorship, and professional development to foster student achievement and a positive school culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- NY state certification eligibility requirements (enrollment in a teacher preparation program and maintenance of GPA if not degree in education) and ability to obtain NY certification within a reasonable period after start
