Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsible for leading a classroom program serving students with moderate to severe learning needs in San Jose, CA. The role combines instructional leadership, IEP management, and team collaboration to deliver individualized instruction aligned with California Core Content Standards. Responsibilities include developing and implementing IEPs, coaching Teaching Assistants, data-driven progress monitoring, collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom environment while managing resources and budget. Requires valid California Education Specialist Credential and Authorization in Moderate/Severe or Mild/Moderate with Autism; degree in Education, Psychology, or related field; experience in special education and autism supports.
Required Qualifications

- Authorization in Moderate/Severe or Mild/Moderate with Autism
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Psychology, or related field
- Experience teaching in a special education classroom
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities
- Experience participating in IEP development and implementation
