Job Summary
Develop and implement differentiated instructional plans addressing each student's unique academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs in accordance with their IEP goals. Regularly assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies to promote growth and achievement. Collaborate closely with fellow Special Educators and educational professionals to ensure a cohesive support system. Maintain open communication with students, families, and school staff to facilitate success and address challenges. Stay current with best practices and research in special education to enhance skills continuously. This role supports the educational journey of students with diverse learning needs across Berkeley County Public Schools, working with a team of Exceptional Student Educators.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for or able to obtain South Carolina Department of Education Special Education Certification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid and current certification as a Special Educator in South Carolina
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of special education
