Job Summary
Provides instruction to students with significant disabilities in the 4+ programming. Develops and implements programming associated with functional academics and daily living skills to be delivered in a classroom setting and in the community. Develops schedules for community activities and oversees community experiences. Oversees workplace learning opportunities and assists with job coaching. Develops business partnerships for potential worksites for students. Supports and implements the district curriculum, standards and benchmarks. Collaborates with community partners for various workplace learning opportunities. Collaborates with community agencies to connect families to post graduation services. Provides active communication and positive relationships with parents and community members. Assists in planning and delivery of social/emotional/behavioral programming. Maintains appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data. Meets the 8 Iowa Teaching Standards and 42 criteria on a consistent basis. Conducts IEP meetings and completes corresponding paperwork according to IDEA and state/district requirements. Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education required
- Experience in classroom teaching at the secondary level preferred
