Job Summary
Plan a program of study meeting individual student needs and prepare lessons with accommodations for diverse abilities. Create a conducive classroom environment, establish clear objectives, and employ varied instructional techniques consistent with student capabilities. Assess student accomplishments regularly, maintain accurate records, and refer students for evaluation as required. Prepare for assigned classes, submit lesson plans and grades in the school platform, and develop classroom behavior rules. Maintain order, protect student safety, and establish open communication with parents, students, and community members. Participate in staff development, attend meetings, and supervise teacher aides or volunteers. Occasionally work nights or weekends, with moderate travel and prolonged desk work in an office setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Meet Texas 'highly qualified' standards
- Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and subject area of assignment (required for ESL/Bilingual, SPED and preferred for other subjects)

- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the campus
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district
- Ability to use computers including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine, and telephone
- Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills
