Job Summary
Special Education Teacher in the RISE program at Salem High School within Salem Public Schools. Responsible for teaching, evaluating, and implementing instructional programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in inclusive/general education settings, applying ABA and behavior-intervention techniques, collaborating with special education and general education staff, managing a fluid caseload, maintaining regular parent communication, supervising paraprofessionals, conducting IEP development and transition planning, and supporting student progress through data-driven instruction and ongoing assessments (e.g., MCAS-related tasks) while fostering inclusive practices and leveraging technology to enhance learning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (required) in Education or related field
- Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Special Education (required)
- Special Education Moderate or Severe Disabilities License (required)
- Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement (Required within 1-year of start date)
- Current authorization to work in the United States
