Job Summary
Develop and implement specially designed instruction for students with disabilities, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. Plan, develop, and update Individual Education Plans annually in collaboration with IEP teams, paraprofessionals, and general education staff. Deliver IEP services while maintaining student confidentiality and compiling progress reports for parents at the end of each grading period. Design lesson plans aligned to state content standards with measurable goals, varied activities, and assessments that accommodate individual needs. Manage the classroom environment to promote positive behavior and high expectations, utilizing differentiated instruction and frequent, purposeful questioning. Complete all required paperwork, reports, and attendance records accurately and timely. Supervise students during instructional periods, recess, lunch, and school-related events, while participating in faculty meetings, PLCs, and parent-teacher conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Certification in area(s) of special education
- Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate
