Job Summary
Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom. Provide differentiated instruction in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive settings; adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs; assess and monitor progress using data-driven decisions; collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff; participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and parent-teacher conferences; maintain ISBE/IDEA-compliant records; implement behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies. Proficiency in Spanish preferred. Illinois-based position in Oak Lawn with ISBE licensing requirements and fingerprint clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Endorsement (ISBE)
- LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement
- Experience with IEP development and implementation
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required
