Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for grades 1-2 and 3-5 in STLR program. Responsibilities include developing and implementing IEPs, providing differentiated instruction in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive settings, adapting lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs, assessing and monitoring student progress with data-driven decisions, collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff; participating in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and parent-teacher conferences; maintaining accurate records in ISBE/IDEA compliance; implementing behavioral intervention plans and classroom management strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Endorsement (ISBE)
- LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement
- Experience with IEP development and implementation
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required
