Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsible for developing and implementing IEPs for students with disabilities, providing differentiated instruction in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive settings, adapting lesson plans to meet diverse needs, monitoring progress with data-driven decisions, collaborating with general education staff and therapists, and participating in IEP meetings, evaluations, and conferences. Maintains ISBE/IDEA-compliant documentation, implements BIPs and classroom management strategies, and supports professional development, contracts up to 40 hours/week, and post-contract opportunities, with benefits including paid time off, holidays, and a 4% 401(k) match. Illinois-based role with LBS1 endorsement and ISBE licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program.
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Endorsement (ISBE).
- LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement required.
- Experience with IEP development and implementation.
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required.
