Job Summary
Special Education Teacher to develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities; provide differentiated instruction in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive settings; adapt lesson plans and strategies to meet diverse learning needs; assess progress with data-driven decision-making; collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff; participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and conferences; maintain records in compliance with Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and IDEA regulations; implement Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies; contract opportunities up to 40 hours per week with potential to extend or convert to permanent. Qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's in Special Education and Michigan teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement; fingerprint clearance required. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program
- Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education Endorsement (MDE)
- Endorsement in LD/ASD/CI/EI preferred
- Experience with IEP development and implementation
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required
