Job Summary
Special Education Teacher needed for elementary and middle school multi-categorical, self-contained classrooms. Responsibilities include developing and implementing IEPs, providing differentiated instruction in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive settings, adapting lesson plans to meet diverse needs, assessing progress with data-driven decisions, collaborating with general education teachers, therapists and support staff, participating in IEP meetings and conferences, maintaining compliant records, and implementing behavioral intervention plans and classroom management strategies. Requires SCDE Special Education certificate, IEP experience, fingerprint clearance, and a commitment to ensuring student success within SCDE/IDEA frameworks. Employment is contract-based for the school year with a schedule from 7:15 AM to 3:30 PM, Saint Matthews, SC, US.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program
- South Carolina Educator Certificate in Special Education (SCDE)
- Experience with IEP development and implementation
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required
