Job Summary
Design and implement individualized instruction based on students' IEPs while assessing progress and adjusting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. Develop annual Individualized Education Programs and coordinate special education services to help students achieve their goals. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and district policies. Work under the direction of the Building Principal and Director of Special Services to evaluate student progress against instructional objectives.
Required Qualifications
- SC Certification as Generic Special Education (02), Multicategorical (21) or LD (2G)
- Routine local or regional travel
- Occasional overnight travel
- Ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require considerable attention and meeting deadlines
- Frequent use of a computer monitor and related equipment
- Ability to lift items weighing up to twenty-five pounds
