Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for PABS: Design and implement instructional strategies aligned with district curriculum and state standards to support students’ intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction with appropriate strategies and technology, collaborating with SPED colleagues to modify curricula and provide accommodations for students with IEPs, supervising instructional aides, conducting ongoing assessments, leading extracurricular activities as assigned, and maintaining professional communication with parents and colleagues while adhering to district policies and TEA guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the subject and level assigned, including Special Education certification
- ESL certification (preferred) or ability to obtain ESL certification within one year of hire
- Clinical teaching experience or one (1) year of full-time teaching experience (preferred)
- Knowledge and skills related to ARD, IEP, differentiation, data analysis, and professional communication
