Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with district curriculum, accommodating individual learner needs, assessing student progress, and collaborating with staff to support students with IEPs. Requires a Bachelor's Degree, a valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements, demonstrated competency in the assigned core subjects, ESL certification for targeted positions, and Special Education certification for applicable campuses. Duties include developing lesson plans, applying TA TEA/board policies, using diverse instructional strategies and technology, conducting ongoing assessments, coordinating with other teachers and staff, facilitating extracurricular activities as assigned, maintaining records and reports, and maintaining professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues. Location: Academy High School, Plano ISD, Texas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- ESL Certification is required for Pre-K and elementary teaching positions including Special Education; Middle school English/Language Arts including Special Education; High school English/Language Arts including Special Education
- Special Education Certification is required for all teachers at an Early Childhood campus
- Experience: At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
