Job Summary
High School Special Education Teacher collaborates with Assistant Teacher, Behavior Staff, Vocational and Support Staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education and behavioral programs. Responsibilities include creating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), selecting instructional materials and strategies to meet IEP goals, preparing quarterly and mid-quarter reports and IEP progress narratives, maintaining communication with parents and PHILLIPS staff, managing classroom budgets, evaluating student progress, organizing classroom environments, and supervising students throughout the day (including bus and playground duties). Implementing individual and group behavior management programs and ensuring a safe, effective learning environment are also part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum qualification for a Provisional Certificate in special education at the appropriate level, or content area
- Experience working in special education or a related field (preferred)
