Job Summary
Lead IEP development and implementation for students with disabilities by drafting plans, coordinating evaluation meetings, and managing related educational matters. Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned with individualized goals and provide direct supervision to ensure safety and instructional fidelity. Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate remedial instruction and consult with specialized staff on holistic student development. Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with FERPA and IDEA, while managing student personal needs such as feeding and toileting. Exercise flexibility to shift tasks under severe time constraints and adhere to mandatory child abuse reporting protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Montana Certificate or eligibility for Montana endorsement in special education
- Certified teacher who meets the criteria to enroll in the Montana Special Education Teacher Endorsement Project
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and employment matters
- Ability to respond to questions from the community
- Ability to manage conflict
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children with disabilities
- Demonstrated understanding of child and adolescent developmental issues
