Special Education Teacher - Middle School

Develop individual programs for students with moderate to severe disabilities using behavioral approaches and data collection systems to teach life skills required for post-school environments. Implement structured behavioral classroom strategies to integrate and generalize acquired skills across activities, experiences, and environments while maintaining maximum skill acquisition rates. Evaluate data to monitor student progress, update programs, and ensure maintenance of skills in all developmental areas including language, motor, cognitive, and social functions. Comply with the Rhode Island Right to Read Act by demonstrating proficiency or awareness of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy. Collaborate with families, colleagues, and the broader community to support student achievement and professional development.
