Job Summary
Special Education Teacher provides high-quality instruction, case management, and specialized services for students with disabilities across PK–12 settings, aligning instruction to IEP goals and ensuring compliant, student-centered programming. The role supports MTSS/RTI processes, coordinates IEP meetings, and collaborates with families, general education teachers, and related service providers. Responsibilities include differentiated instruction across push-in/pull-out/co-teaching formats, progress monitoring, documentation and data management, and supporting behavioral, social-emotional, and executive-functioning needs. May assist with evaluation processes and remote/tele-support tasks as needed; requires collaborative planning, culturally responsive family engagement, and adherence to state/federal regulations. Minimum qualifications include a current Colorado teaching license with Special Education endorsement (or equivalent) and relevant experience; a Master's degree is strongly preferred. Optional remote/tele-support may be available. You will work with diverse schools across Colorado to deliver high-quality educational services to students with disabilities and contribute to equitable educational experiences.
Required Qualifications
- Current Colorado teaching license, TEE, Alt, or with a Special Education endorsement (required)
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of successful special education experience in PK–12 settings preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional practice, service delivery, progress monitoring, and IEP compliance
- Experience providing direct instruction, lesson development, and student evaluation
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Experience facilitating IEP meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Experience with culturally responsive communication and family engagement
