Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsibilities include planning, organizing, and delivering specialized instructional programs in an elementary or secondary special education setting, guiding students to develop academic and behavioral potential. You will work under the principal’s supervision and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and present IEPs, conduct pre- and post-testing, manage classroom behavior in a trauma-informed, structured environment, maintain accurate records and progress reports, and participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Meetings. The role requires an active California Education Specialist credential and the ability to transfer classrooms as needed, with strong communication with parents and stakeholders, supervision of Instructional Aides, and adherence to agency policies and CQI processes. Required Qualifications
- Current California Intern/Preliminary/Clear Mild to Moderate or Extensive Needs Education Specialist Credential
- Experience working with students with learning, emotional, and behavioral disabilities preferred
- Prior teaching experience in a non-public school preferred (optional)
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite
