Job Summary
Special Education Teacher (Life Skills) at Columbus North High School. Responsible for maximizing learning for students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living by assessing students, developing and implementing IEPs and behavior plans, coordinating with outside agencies, maintaining records, and supporting teachers with guidance and training. Performs case conferences, aligns instruction with Universal Design for Learning and federal/state education laws, and engages parents. Travel to district buildings and professional meetings as required. Requires State Certification in Special Education; Bachelor's degree in education; Master's degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- State Certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Bachelor's degree in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
- Masters Degree preferred in Special Education
- Experience: prior special education teaching experience preferred
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
