Job Summary
Special Education Teacher focusing on learning-support instruction for 5th and 6th graders at West Reading Elementary Center for the 2026-2027 academic year. Requires active Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (PreK-12 or PreK-8), strong knowledge of elementary-aged development, and effective communication. Candidates should demonstrate Differentiated Instruction, Mastery Learning, data analysis and interpretation at the student level, Classroom Technology Integration, Structured Literacy and the Science of Reading, and Inquiry-Based Learning. Emphasizes being a team player, problem solver, and life-long learner, with necessary clearances and health screenings.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Special Education PreK-12 or Special Education PreK-8
- Thorough knowledge of physical and psychological aspects of elementary aged children
- Ability to teach the approved curriculum
- Experience or training in Differentiated Instruction, Mastery Learning, Student-level data analysis and interpretation, Classroom Technology Integration, Structured Literacy and the Science of Reading, Inquiry Based Learning
- Team player, problem solver, life-long learner
- Criminal Record Check (less than one year old)
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance (less than one year old)
- FBI Finger Print Clearance (less than one year old)
- TB Test/Physical (less than 3 months old)
