Job Summary
Develop and implement individualized curriculum and therapeutic programming in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Provide classroom management tailored to the characteristics of the student population and collaborate with team members to execute multidisciplinary programs. Prepare and maintain a safe, healthy, academic, and behaviorally effective classroom environment while completing weekly lesson plans, grade reports, and IEP assessments. Work closely with parents and partnering school districts to ensure wraparound services and school-to-home communication. This role supports K-12+ students with diverse needs within JCFS Chicago's holistic educational experience, requiring ISBE Special Education certification and knowledge of Yeshiva traditions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from an accredited college or university
- Must be certified by ISBE as a Special Education Teacher; LBS1/Type 10 certification
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge and understanding of Yeshiva culture, traditions, and educational practices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with students with special education needs
- Experience with the Chicago Public School electronic IEP systems
