Job Summary
Deliver individualized instruction to students with profound disabilities in a Day School setting across Elgin, Bloomingdale, and Geneva, IL. Create and monitor IEPs for assigned students, provide clear classroom structure to address academic, social, and emotional needs, supervise paraprofessionals, and teach during Extended School Year (ESY). Opportunity to contribute to a supportive, mentoring environment with instructional coaching and in-room coaching as part of Marklund’s Life Skills program. Requires LBS1 and valid Illinois teaching credentials; new grads are welcome. Responsibilities align with a comprehensive, student-centered approach, including collaboration with therapists (Speech, Occupational, Physical), and ongoing professional development within a nonprofit, mission-driven school.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited college
- Proper and current Illinois teaching credentials (PEL license)
- Must include LBS1
- Must meet state guidelines for school accreditation
