Job Summary
Provide special education services in a language arts classroom to students with learning activities designed to foster intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare instructional materials tailored to student ability levels. Participate in IEP conferences covering behavior management plans, functional analysis, placement, and annual reviews. Provide diagnostic testing to identify capabilities and monitor student progress regularly. Maintain accurate records per law, CCPS, and GaDOE policies while communicating with parents and consulting with professional staff. Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Special Education General Curriculum & English (6-12) or Language Arts (4-8)
- English OR LANGUAGE ARTS (at appropriate grade level based upon location)
- English 6-12 for high school
- English (ELA 4-8 for middle school; not applicable for high school certification)
- SPECIAL EDUCATION GENERAL CURRICULUM (P-12)
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of one (1) year's teaching experience
