Job Summary
Provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and instructional materials tailored to student ability levels. Participate in IEP conferences, develop strategies for an effective learning environment, conduct diagnostic testing, maintain accurate records, and communicate with parents. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, special education certification, and experience in a teaching setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher required.
- Special Education General Curriculum & all five content areas (currently GACE Tests 081/082 + 087/088 for P-8) High School is Special Education General Curriculum and content-specific tests.
- Field(s)/Endorsement(s): SPECIAL EDUCATION ADAPTED CURRICULUM (P-12)
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
