Special Education Teacher

Special Education Teacher responsible for supporting the educational and behavioral goals of all students with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Responsibilities include coordinating with classroom teachers, conducting diagnostic assessments and functional behavior assessments, writing and implementing behavior improvement plans, facilitating IEP meetings and goals, pursuing student achievement and school culture objectives, applying research-based instructional practices, integrating culturally responsive teaching, serving as advisor to a caseload of students, and maintaining regular communication with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth. Also participates in planning non-instructional activities and events; requires collaboration in a multi-cultural setting and the ability to pass background checks.
