Job Summary
Special Education Teacher-Inclusion/Resource for Elementary Learning Academy: provide high-quality, individualized instruction and manage the IEP process for students with disabilities; collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams; develop and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials; adapt curriculum to student needs across content areas; establish a positive classroom climate; maintain confidentiality of student records; utilize technology (email, Google products) and participate in school-wide planning and professional development; 187 teaching days per year under Madison City Schools with State and district policy adherence; requires Alabama teaching certification and a B.S. degree in the instructional responsibility area.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. Degree in the area of instructional responsibility
- Alabama State Department of Education Teaching Certification in the area of instructional responsibility
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. in area of instructional responsibility)
- Alabama State Department of Education Teaching Certification in area of instructional responsibility
- Experience or alternatives as deemed appropriate by the Board
Additional Requirements
- Background Check Required (Ala. Code §§ 16-22A-5) upon offer of employment; fingerprints required by Alabama Bureau of Investigation and FBI; checks may not be more than ten years old
