Job Summary
Lead a special education classroom serving students with diverse learning needs. Develop and implement IEPs, manage classroom behavior using PBIS, supervise paraprofessionals, and collaborate with families and staff to support each student's academic and social growth. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans with accommodations aligned to IEP goals and state standards, adapting curriculum, implementing PBIS with behavior tracking and parent communication, supervising paraprofessionals, attending and leading IEP meetings, conducting assessments, and supporting assistive technology and augmentative communication devices. Requires KSDE special education endorsement, a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), and applicable background clearances.
Required Qualifications
- Current professional educator license from the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) with a special education endorsement
- Bachelor's degree in Education (Master's degree strongly preferred)
- DOJ/FBI Live Scan background and TB clearance as applicable by state
