Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsibilities include adapting lessons to meet diverse student needs, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload, assessing and tracking student progress, updating IEPs throughout the year, teaching small groups in reading and math, collaborating with families and school staff, facilitating IEP meetings, ensuring alignment with state standards and IDEA curricula, maintaining consistent behavior management, and participating in regular school activities and professional development. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, ability to use technology for education and communication, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for students with disabilities. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
- Experience in a Special Education classroom setting (strongly preferred)
- Valid Texas state certification in Special Education (required)
