Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsibilities include adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with disabilities, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload, and delivering instruction in reading and math while using accommodations and service minutes. The role requires assessing student performance, updating IEPs, and communicating progress to families and staff. The teacher will conduct small-group instruction, collect and analyze data to maximize student achievement, coordinate with parents, teachers, and administrators, and participate in weekly meetings and after-school duties. Strong knowledge of curriculum, behavior management, ARD processes, family engagement, and technology-enabled communication is essential, along with the ability to foster a productive classroom culture and support transitions for students’ post-graduation goals. The position is located in San Antonio, TX, and may involve extra tutoring sessions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
- Valid Texas state certification in Special Education (required)
