Plan a program of study meeting individual student needs and establish clear objectives for lessons and projects. Create a conducive classroom environment, employ appropriate instructional methods, and assess student accomplishments regularly. Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents; assist administration in implementing policies; and develop classroom behavior rules to maintain order. Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, evaluate their performance, and strive to maintain professional competence by attending staff meetings and serving on committees.
