Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for K-2 Behavior Class at Carver Washington Steam Magnet (9.25-month contract). Responsible for developing and delivering instruction aligned to students’ IEP goals, collecting progress data, and implementing individualized behavior plans within Little Rock School District curriculum. Requires Arkansas Certification in applicable classifications, ability to implement non-aversive behavioral programs and social skills training, and collaboration with staff to support student growth socially, emotionally, and academically. Exempt position with benefit package; duties include data collection, instruction planning, and adherence to safety and professional development requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Current Arkansas certification in Seriously Emotionally Disturbed, Mental Retardation, Learning Disabilities, or Mildly Handicapped
- Experience with students at risk
- Experience implementing non-aversive behavioral programs and social skills training
- Ability to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Ability to create and implement individualized behavior plans
- Ability to work with others
- Experience teaching students with behavioral needs preferred
