Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Program leads a specialized classroom to deliver intensive, research-based interventions and individualized modifications for students on the autism spectrum. The role focuses on academic readiness, daily functional skills, and meaningful participation, employing ABA, natural environment teaching, task analysis, and total communication. Responsibilities include developing and implementing IEPs, collaborating with general education teachers and paraprofessionals, employing differentiated instructional strategies, analyzing assessment data to guide instruction, and promoting social-emotional learning and inclusive practices aligned with district goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License with the appropriate Moderate Disabilities (PreK-2/PreK-8/5-12) and SEI Endorsement
- Experience in delivering high-quality behavior intervention and managing high-needs classrooms
- Experience in sub-separate or specialized school district settings
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese encouraged
