Job Summary
Manage and provide instructional guidance, virtual teaching, and general strategies for a caseload of students with special needs. Develop, write, and implement IEPs and 504 plans while evaluating assessments and conducting parent conferences. Communicate regularly with parents and learning coaches to ensure goals are met, and consult with teachers to coordinate specially designed instruction. Provide direct services via web-conferencing and schedule IEP meetings in a virtual environment. Maintain accurate data in the Learning Management System and assist with state testing adaptations. Travel across the state for testing administration as required.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Special Education or related Education Field
- A valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Exceptional Student Education K-12
- One of the following additional certifications: Mathematics 6-12 or Elementary Education K-6
- ESOL Certification or Endorsement
- ESE K-12 certification
- Experience in policy (IDEA) and/or administration with Special Education
- Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Customer focused approach
- High degree of flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment
- Team player track record
- Travel across the state is required for state testing administration (may require overnight travel)
