Job Summary
Plan, organize, and implement daily lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum while conducting pre and post-testing using standardized assessments. Manage and provide services according to each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP), including writing and implementing goals and chairing 30-day review meetings. Demonstrate competency in all subject areas by providing direct instruction, academic assessments, and behavior management. Collaborate with general education teachers and school support staff to support student instruction, participate in district trainings, and maintain documentation of communications and daily activities. Travel to other school sites to render teaching services as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education
- English Language and Autism Authorizations
- Eligibility to obtain a teaching permit or teaching internship
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, in addition to a variety of educational software programs
- Ability to travel in performance of job duties
