Job Summary
Coordinate lesson planning and team teaching with specialists and instructional assistants to support student progress based on individualized IEP goals. Maintain updated IEP documentation, create and revise goals, and provide push-in and push-out support for students with special needs. Serve as the liaison to SPED service providers and administration while collecting and reviewing CSE referral information. Communicate monthly progress reports to families via telephone or face-to-face meetings, ensuring all contact logs are current. Participate in weekly grade-level team planning, faculty meetings, and annual or triennial IEP reviews. Submit all test and data reporting deadlines and maintain formal evaluative records including anecdotal notes and checklists.
Required Qualifications
- New York State Certification
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Desired Qualifications
- Three to five years of classroom experience
- Demonstrated success working in an urban school setting
- A Master's degree in Education or relevant content area
