Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for Extended School Year (ESY) at Grass Valley Elementary in Camas School District. Responsibilities include lesson planning/design using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) aligned to CCSS, data-driven reflection and assessment, culturally responsive instruction, MTSS/PBIS-based classroom management, inclusive environment, and collaboration with health staff. Must plan for and deliver instruction, supervise students and paraprofessionals, develop IEPs and ensure compliance with timelines, and pursue professional growth. Qualifications include Washington State Teaching Certification with Special Education endorsement, experience with UDL and equitable teaching practices, and knowledge of laws pertaining to students with disabilities. Working conditions specify school environment with hours corresponding to ESY schedule (three hours per day, three days per week, for three weeks, July 14–July 30, elementary focus). Required Qualifications
- Washington State Teaching Certification with Special Education endorsement
- Experience in or knowledge of equitable teaching and learning practices and protocols and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
- Successful teaching experience working with students with disabilities, preferred
- Experience in writing behavioral objectives based upon students' individual needs, preferred
- A commitment to provide equitable access and experiences for all students, including the disruption of systemic inequities
- Possession of a high level of organizational skills and practices
- Understanding of current State and Federal laws pertaining to the education of students with disabilities
