Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsible for developing and delivering individualized instruction for students with special needs, aligning curricula to IEP goals, collaborating with ARD teams and parents, and implementing instructional strategies across self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant settings. Duties include planning lessons and materials, assessing student progress, adapting instruction to learning styles, using a variety of instructional techniques and technology, supervising teacher aides/volunteers, participating in ARD meetings, and ensuring compliance with district and federal regulations. Must maintain open communication, manage student behavior per IEP, support extracurricular activities, and uphold safety protocols. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and Texas teaching certification with special education endorsements; prior student teaching or internship experience preferred.
