Job Summary
Special Education Teacher at AMBASSADOR PHILLIP V SANCHEZ II PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL. This full-time role involves teaching in a personalized instructional environment, collaborating with instructional staff and families, developing and implementing goals from each student’s IEP, chairing IEP meetings, managing student behavior, and providing direct instruction and assessments. The position requires planning daily lessons aligned with the approved curriculum, conducting pre- and post-testing, and traveling to other school sites as needed. It also entails maintaining documentation of communications and daily activities, participating in district trainings and school events, and supporting a diverse student population with knowledge of California teaching standards and various educational models (Independent Study, Personal Learning, Distance Learning). The role emphasizes teamwork with general education teachers, program specialists, and other support staff to deliver a rigorous educational program, along with meeting education code timelines and maintaining student records. The compensation package includesClear Credential: $79,500 - $100,700 per year with a $16,000 sign-on bonus; Preliminary Credential: $68,900 per year with a $16,000 sign-on bonus; Intern Credential: $66,144 per year with a $3,500 sign-on; Extras: $4,000 per year IEP stipend.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required
- Valid California credential Specialist with authorization for the Special Education disability and level assigned or intern eligible is required
- English Learner Authorization or eligible to obtain EL Authorization is required
- Autism Authorization is required or eligible to enroll and complete a Commission-approved professional preparation program in the special education specialty area requested, including successful completion of supervised field study is required
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned is required
- Knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS) and related Educational Systems
- Proficient level of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other technology applications
- Ability to travel up to 5% In the performance of job duties are required
