Job Summary
Plan, organize, and implement daily lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum while providing direct student instruction and academic assessments. Conduct pre and post-testing using standardized tests, manage student behavior, and write and implement goals outlined in each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP). Schedule and chair IEP meetings, including 30-day reviews, and collaborate with general education teachers and school support staff to support student instruction. Maintain documentation of communications, activities, and reports as required, and travel to other school sites to render teaching services. This full-time role at FLEX High School in Michigan focuses on a personalized learning environment where staff prioritize reaching the best outcome for all students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education
- English Language and Autism Authorizations
- Eligibility to obtain a teaching permit or teaching internship
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, in addition to a variety of educational software programs
- Ability to travel in performance of job duties
